Apex Care Heidi's NDIS Story

“I love doing art and swimming with my workers!”

- Heidi

Heidi’s Story

Art and swimming are always powerful tools for me to maintain my health and wellbeing. When I put aside my constant battles of managing my illnesses, I am able to be myself again by doing what I love with NDIS support services.

Apex Care helped me to create the plan and achieve my goals, so I could be more active in the community. Nowadays, besides swimming and arts, I am doing so much more with NDIS support. I visit my mum who is in an SDA home, visit farms and attend cooking classes. I just love it.

Apex Care Robert's NDIS Story

”I love seeing my family again. Thank you Apex Care for helping me.”

- Robert

Robert’s Story

Before receiving NDIS support, I had very little to do with my family. I found it hard to be motivated and active in all aspects of life. Apex Care helped me to apply for NDIS funding and my life turned around.

My support workers are so caring and supportive that they helped me to rebuild my relationship with my family, particularly during the time that my mother passed away. They also support me to participate in different programs, and now I feel much more confident in myself.

Apex Care Diamantis' NDIS Story

“I feel so much better than before. I love being busy, doing different things with my workers.”

-Diamantis

Diamantis’ Story

The NDIS has played a big part in my life. It gives me the opportunity of having Apex Care to support me along my journey. Now I am able to explore things that I enjoy doing in the community. I love participating in social activities such as the Mens Shed, Art Program and others. It allows me to meet different people.

I appreciate that I have my support worker to work with me, to understand my barriers and help me to achieve my goals. During my time with Apex Care, I have built up my capacity and self-confidence in doing things independently.

Read what our clients have to say about us

"Our experience with Apex Care was that it’s a very positive and comfortable home. The director is very caring with residents and family members, and she's efficient in all aspects of her job. The staff always welcome us with a smile and appear to interact well with the residents. There's never anything too difficult when making a request. Our brother is happy and seems at peace living at Kilara House. Thank you."

– Mary and Andreina (Client’s family)

“My daughter has been with Kilara House (Apex Care) now for two years, and I have found their organisational and care skills to be outstanding. I have had absolutely no complaints about the care my daughter has received. A friendly, homely environment is provided with home-cooked meals and very capable, friendly staff who attend to every need. Most importantly, my daughter’s medical needs are attended to promptly, and whenever I have a concern it is attended to immediately. I value that Xenia, in her nursing capacity, understands my daughter’s complex and difficult medical condition. I am grateful that my daughter is at Kilara House.”

– Margaret R (Client’s family)

“Apex Care offers one of the best supported residential services,  Kilara House in the North East Area. The staff are warm, professional and care greatly about the residents. The facility is clean, bright and welcoming, and kept in great condition. What a great service for those in need.”

– Elly P (Austin Health)

“Kilara House is an SRS that I have worked with for over 10 years in my role as Snr Social Worker at Austin Acute Psychiatric Unit. In my experience it is one of the best SRS I have had the pleasure of working with. The staff are caring and kind. The management are professional and competent. They are able to manage a difficult cohort of clients and prepared to be flexible and innovative. With NDIS now accessible they have been able to expand the support they offer and improve the outcomes for their residents. I would not hesitate to recommend them to patients, families and carers. In appreciation, David Brophy.“

“For the last three years, Apex Care has been my strongest advocate with my NDIS application, planning meetings and giving me one-on-one support. They supported me so much with my cancer treatment/management; my sister’s death and my very much loved interest in astrology. I am sincerely grateful for having them in my life.”
